DUNEDIN BUS HUB

Otago Regional Council
Great King Street, Dunedin

Our team worked in close collaboration with the landscape architects, engineers, and project managers at Beca to provide a cohesive solution for the new multi-million-dollar bus hub development project.

The ORC opted to implement a unique angled “sawtooth” bus bay design to optimise space efficiency, visibility, and safety in this busy central city street. The bus shelter structure has been engineered to make use Designbrand’s proprietary modular shelter system and features a glass canopy roof supported by cantilever arms. This design was chosen to maximise the limited available footpath space.

Designbrand provided a complete turnkey solution for our client. This started with our initial conceptual design and visualisation work and concluded with the co-ordinated manufacture, sub-component assembly and flat pack delivery of product ex-factory in Porirua, Wellington. A comprehensive and detailed assembly manual with full documentation and instructions was provided to the main contractor for the final assembly and onsite installation of the shelters.
